"There the devil to pay" - Gettysburg - July 1, 1863 (part1)

Pour cette nouvelle mise en scène, je me suis inspiré d'une des peintures de Mort Künstler intitulée :

"There the devil to pay" fameuse réponse du général John Bufford au général Reynolds lui annonçant l'arrivée du 1er Corps a Gettysburg en ce 1er juillet .

La scène se déroule sur Mc Pherson Ridge, Bufford à pied, à travers la fumée des combats pointe la position des Confédérés sur l'autre rive de la rivière Willoughby's Run (voir carte). Reynolds se tient en retrait

Il est entouré par deux pièces d'artillerie de la batterie A, Second U.S. Artillery du lieutenant John Calef.

For this new staging, I get inspiration from Mort Künstler painting "There the devil to pay" based on John Buford's reply to John F. Reynolds when he announced the arrival of the First Corps at Gettysburg by asking "What's the matter, John?"

We see Buford dismounted , pointing to the Confederates on the other side of Willoughby's Run. Reynolds mounted on a black charger is just behind.

He's close to two artillery pieces, 3 inch ordnance rifles, part of Lt. John Calef's battery A second U.S. Artillery.
